👩❤️👨 The Couple

The Beginning
It was a cold January evening, Eskild had only been in Atlanta for two weeks when he was invited to the Elephante concert by his old college roommate Jon and his group of friends. As fate would have it, within that larger group, a cute, hat-wearing Jessica caught Eskild’s eye. After Eskild thoroughly impressed Jessica with his dance moves, Jessica knew she wanted more, so when Eskild asked if she wanted to get lunch together, she eagerly said yes. The rest they say, is history…
After only a few dates, the COVID-19 pandemic hit and the lockdown was put into effect. Certainly a scary time for everyone but this didn’t stop them from seeing each other every weekend for the next six months. Jessica would come over to Eskild’s apartment, often times with their friend Jon where they would eat homemade bread, drink seltzers like they were cure for COVID, watch movies, go on long walks by the river, and, perhaps most memorably of all, make a lot of amazing art!

When Eskild moved back to California that September, Jessica was there to help drive him cross-country. Although Jessica would visit frequently and would often stay for many weeks at a time, it took two years before she officially made the move to California.
The Proposal
It was a cold January afternoon, Eskild was in Atlanta visiting Jessica and her family for the new year, when it started to snow. He asked Jessica’s parents for their blessing, and organized a hike along the trail of the Chattahoochee River; a trail that he and Jessica had hiked many times before. With the help of Jessica’s younger brother, Jeremy, Eskild was able to surprise Jessica with a ring and ask her to marry him.

It’s not the destination, it’s the journey
Although their strides differ, Jessica and Eskild both love to move, to travel, to see and experience the new. During their time together, they have been fortunate to travel to so many wonderful places together, both domestically and abroad. From the forest of Sumatra to the glaciers of Iceland, they make exceptional travel buddies.
In many ways, it’s suiting that their wedding is a “destination wedding” and the fact that they get to share this experience with so many loved ones will certainly cement it as one of the most memorable weeks of their life.
